Where Agriscience Meets Language Supagro Montpellier Profs at Atlantic

Teacher of English and Head of Foreign Languages, Fabien Zecchino, and ESL teacher and language coordinator, David Attias, play a central role in fostering Supagro, Montpellier’s international efforts. The institution boasts a long tradition of international collaboration in research and education projects. Its growing international student population and the college’s philosophy of integrating multilingualism into their BA, MA, and PhD programmes have made English a cornerstone of instruction and communication.

Fabien and David have studied at Atlantic multiple times, this time at very short notice. After their course in Cork fell through, they got in touch with Atlantic, and the team were delighted to book them into a course that would further refine their English skills and expand their teaching spectrum.

Supagro Montpellier – Agriculture, Science, and International Collaboration

Established in 1842, L’Institut Agro Montpellier today hosts approximately 1,550 students, a quarter of whom stem from outside France. Supagro delivers academic expertise in agriculture, science, food, and the environment, partnering with institutions on all continents in education and research.

This distinctly international outlook fosters collaboration across continents, while underscoring the importance of English proficiency—a fact David and Fabien are well aware of. Throughout their studies, students gain industry-specific vocabulary in both French and English, equipping them to work anywhere in the world after graduation. The college’s international partnerships foster not only a global approach but also a collaborative spirit among students.
